LoMaps theme making only mixed forests?

Hi,

It seems like the leaf types of the forests in LoMaps are mixed/not specified or at least cannot be addressed from themes properly, ie. broadleaved/needleleaved/mixed leaf_type although in the OpenStreetMap database the values are right. Is there a trick or something to cover this key?

Hi,

you're right, the internal themes does not display leaf type. Please use different theme - for example Hilo theme. You can download theme from Locus Store (Menu > Store > By Usage > Graphic > Vector map themes).

Thank you

Hi,

thanks for the reply. Yep, the internal Hike & bike theme doesn't display this, but my problem is that external themes display only one type of forests with LoMaps as well (mixed type, seems like the default). But when I switch to another map file like an AndroMaps one, the same theme like HiLo or my own one immediately displays different leaf types properly. I'm talking specifically about landuse=forest with leaf_type=needleleaved etc. keys.

Hi,

ahh thank you for explanation! I though that you talked about parameter wood=coniferous/deciduous/mixed but it's already deprecated - I'm sorry I didn't know it. We'll add parameters for leaf_type into LoMaps. However I don't plan to change the internal theme but you should be able to use mentioned external themes.

Thank you for post!

Hi Petr,

Thanks for the reply. That's good news if leaf_type gets into the LoMaps later, can help with some forestry stuff.

By the way is there any public list about the conversations or exclusions during the generation of LoMaps compared to the original OSM database? I mean like that lm_landuse key instead of the standard landuse=residential or the subject of this thread or other possible optimisations. Such a list could help avoid lot of hair pulling during the tuning of a theme for LoMaps :D Of course if it's not a secret formula that you don't want to publicise :D

Regards
