Loss of OS maps in UK

David Payne shared this problem 9 years ago
Not a Problem

Bing maps in UK used to have OS maps available for online or download. These have vanished and clicking on link only offers bing Road map. The purchasable OS maps are a different sort and do not serve as a suitable replacement. Help please.

Hello David,

you've very like used to use add-on Map-Tweak. This add-on is not developed by Locus Team and is not officially supported. So I can not help you in this way But I have to say that we're interested in OS maps. I mean to add them into Locus in official way. You've probably noticed that there are available maps based OS OpenData in Locus store. If I understand it correctly these OS OpenData are not so sufficient as licensed OS Maps? Please, what is the main difference between OS OpenMaps in Locus store and for example Landranger OS Maps? To understand me correctly - we only need to have some reasons to start negotiate with OS office about prices, requirements, etc...

Thanks

Petr

Thanks Petr

OS maps original are the classic vie maps in the UK (150 years or more) and attached

screen shot 15-17-44 is original view (available until last maps tweak update) and other views paid for view (less good in my view)

many thanks for your prompt reply

Hello David,

I'm sorry I can not see the screenshot, but it doesn't matter. I agree that classic OS maps are better. We'll try to negotiate some requirements of official usage these maps in Locus app.

Thank you

Petr
