Not a Problem

hi, when I wanted to check the saved tracks today, it turned out that both phones did not find any of the previously saved tracks, and there were quite a lot of them, the pionts tab works fine, but all tracks have disappeared. I checked tablet, version 3.37 and fortunately there tracks collected form almoust decade are there, but on phones with the latest version all tracks are disappeared. have there been any recent changes that could cause this?

regards,

Greg.

Hi Greg,

I'm sorry for troubles. There haven't been any changes in the latest version that should influence the point/track database. I can remember that on some devices can feature for cleaning memory delete also the locus data. Please check if any backup file is available in the folder /Locus/backup/auto

If any .zip file is available in mentioned backup folder, you can restore data from backup file using feature: Menu > More > backup > restore. More about backup https://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:tools:backup

Regards, Petr

ok, I've looked at files on both phones. in first of them I've found old file tracks.db, over 58MB, but apllications seems to use another one in main storage, that was blank. whetn I replaced those files all track are back, but on the other one there was only one blank file (mean not blank but only with 2 tracks that I've imported on september). with backups it's my fault, I've set to less copies on device and fail with cloud backups :/

Hi Greg,

you're right Locus stored data in mentioned db files(s). It's difficult to say why were these file empty. Our note about the working directories bring me an idea: by default Locus set as default working directory the folder /Locus in the root of the internal memory. However it's possible to change the working directory into Android/data/menion..... I don't know maybe that you changed the default directory. The problem is that all data store in Android/data/menion.... are deleted by system when app is uninstalled.

However you can use these files from second device to 'restore' tracks on the first one.

Please feel free to email me in case of any further issue

Best regards

Petr
