Make it faster (less taps) to stop/ start live tracking

Maybe a Start/ Start menu item could be added to the Living tracking dot-dot-dot menu shown below?

If you don't want to deal with the menu, you can autostart live tracking when recording a track.
Nevertheless, there are scenarios where one doesn't record a track, so still a valid request I think.

Hello Andrew
In your idea, we need two clicks to start and two to stop (from this screen!).
but currently we need two clicks to start and one to stop.
...but maybe there is a misunderstanding on my side.

Maybe from a "live tracking" user button on the main screen, with a long tap, could toggle the start/ stop state?
- put Live tracking function on top/right panel
- Long tap starts with predefined profile.
- Long tap stop (without confirmation)
Sounds good. So +1 for a different idea.

Guys... the ui will have to change anyway when Locus supports multiple live tracking servers at once... like to a simple checkmark in the list.

in case of andrews "new" idea, it's the same story: start/stop (all predefined stuff) with one long tap.

I imagine most common case is single live tracking server - try to make UI simple for most common case. For this, user could long-tap button to toggle enable/disable. And maybe long-tap while any # of live tracking servers are enabled could stop all of them?

The main intention hasn't changed - "Make it faster (less taps) to stop/ start live tracking", just different good ideas on how to achieve it!

Start Stop buttons or menu entries are an overengineered mess anyway. Kill them!
We have one or more entries in a server list, let's enable and disable them with a single tap. Just like you would enable tracks or waypoints for viewing in the track or waypoints list. Not different at all!
Keep it simple... and match the rest of the Locus lists... easy... consistent... no surprises.
