maybe your tracks are stored on your Android and not on your PC

Hi Wolfgang,

Thanks a lot for your help.

I know that it's possible to manage folder and traks on Smartphone.

But, I would manage folder and traks, when I connect my Smartphon on the PC.

It's easier with the PC - I prefer...

My question is : It's possible or not

Hi Bernard,

in case of Locus it's much better to manage tracks within the app track manager. Anyway, if you want to work with your tracks on a PC, first you have to export all tracks from Locus to some fileformat like e.g. .GPX, then copy/move them to PC via USB cable or wifi. Then you have to use some GPX managing software.

Another option is to install some Android emulator on your PC and then install Locus on it. Then copy Locus/data/database/tracks.db to your virtual Locus and manage it in your PC. The procedure is quite complicated for now as Locus doesn't provide cloud data synchronization yet.

Hi Bernhard,

do you know:

menu/settings/track recording/click icon behind any profil/advanced settings/automatic export/enable "share exported data"

"Dropbox" or "Google drive" is possible, so your recorded tracks are available for use on PC

Export your tracks on the sd card connect the phone with the usb cable and use your pc software to manage the track.

If you set the auto export option in locus with the path to the sd every time you connect the cable you'll find the gpx ready for the pc.

If you need to use the modified track back in locus use 'save as' directly on the sd than disconnect the phone start locus and import the modified track from the sd.

Thanks a lot Lorenzo?

I don't have a proble with the export/import tracks.

I woul'd manage on the PC, traks and directory.

For exemple :

change the name - directory or track

move track on a different directory

I have try to do this with Locus and it's not easy.

I hope, Locus team improve this...

I think that in locus all the tracks are saved together in the tracks.db file. When in locus you can manage the tracks creating folders renaming the tracks etc. But all the tracks are always in the same db file.

When you want a file from the locus db you need to export in the format you like.

When you have the file (in example gpx) you can manage it as all other files on android.

I think that you need to create the folders you need in locus track page and mirror the structure in a directory of your sd in this way you can export the tracks in the corresponding folder.

Or what about this?

instead having on the phone both locus tracks and the gpx files you can create the folders you need in locus tracks option and the same directories on the pc where to store and manage the gpx with your software.

When you have modified one file simply import it back in locus in the same folder to sync.

Hi Bernard,

"I have try to do this with Locus and it's not easy.I hope, Locus team improve this..."

1) If it is that difficult we are sure our users would inform us about it. By the way, the current state of Locus tracks management is a result of many years of continuous cooperation with our users.

2) It is too little to say "they should improve it" - you must describe in great detail what particularly you want to be changed and let other users vote for your proposal - that's our system.

Hi Bernard,

thank you for your proposal but we have to decline it. Firstly, we are not based in Bratislava but in Prague. Secondly, we usually don't meet our users personally unless in highly urgent cases or because of business cooperation - our schedule is pretty tight. If you have anything for discussion, please visit our helpdesk or forum.
