Manual wrong?

I keep finding things in the manual that do not correlate with my Locus app. Here's the latest.

WHAT menu? I don't get a menu when I touch, hold or double-click that button.

Thanks, but neither clicking nor holding brings up a menu. Symbols (accommodation etc) on the map flicker. Also, my button looks different - there's a box around the arrow.

Hi Jon,

can you please post a screenshot of what you see (or can't see)? I think Wolfgang's video is illustrating enough what menu is regarded in the manual (thank you Wolfgang)

When button is clicked, double-clicked or held, no menu appears.

I'm sorry Jon but we can't simulate your issue. Tapping the map rotation button in the bottom panel displays a menu of two options - rotating the map as a whole or displaying the view angle. Long tapping the same button displays a menu setting default action for this button. Wolfgang's video shows exactly what the button does. If tapping the map rotation button in your Locus doesn't do anything then obviously there's a problem with your touchscreen, not with Locus.

Or there's a problem with my install of Locus. Any thoughts on why there's a square around the arrow on my button? That isn't a touchscreen issue.

@ Michal, what happen if Jon´s device has no magnetic compass ?? in last SS map should rotate but it is displayed exactly (accidentally) north up ?!

just an idea....

@Jon, what device do you use? does it have a magnetic compass?

Jon, do you have the latest Locus version 3.22? If not, please try to update. If you have the latest version, try reinstalling it. There's not much left what to do - if we cannot repeat the problematic action we can't solve it.

@Woflgang, map rotation is not depending on presence of HW compass - map can rotate according to the movement direction calculated from GPS.

So I found out finally - the "show view" option depends on rotation sensor (hardware compass) presence in your device. When the compass is not available (is not installed or is malfunctioning), the show view doesn't work and doesn't appear in the menu - therefore, the menu does not appear either.

Jon, thanks for notifying is, we'll update the manual.

Not a problem, and yes, I don't think my Samsung tablet has a compass.
