Map items not showing on different device

Gday,

I have Locus installed on two devices. They are both using the offline Tasmania map (6/11/2018, 0.90 version). When planning a recent hike I noticed a cave was nearby because the symbol was visible (and clickable) on the map on my main phone. When I went into the field with my "outdoor" phone, the symbol was not present at any zoom level. One phone is Android 9 (with symbol) and the other is Android 5. I don't have any POI or other data loaded (i think) so what could be causing this?

Dear Chris,

that's interesting :). Are you sure that:

  • both maps are downloaded from Locus store and have the same version?
  • the same version of Locus is installed on both devices?
  • and you use the same theme (probably yes based on the screenshots)

Please check also if "poi db" file is located on your outdoor device. The LoMaps consists from two files: .osm.map file and .osm.db file that contains the POIs and Address. Let's download map again from Locus store on your outdoor device to replace old files.

Thank you

Petr

Gday,

Yes, yes and yes. However the problem is resolved now after upgrading to the latest version that just came out. So, it was either a bug of the old version or perhaps a caching issue. When I first noticed the difference, I went to the locus store on the phone without the symbol and noticed a new *map* version was available. I downloaded it and this bought me inline with the other phone. The symbol was still not visible. After upgrading (both phones) to the new *app* version, they both display the map correctly.

Hi,

well, I'm glad that it's solved but it's really strange behavior. However feel free to contact us if issue appears.

Thanks, Petr
