Map tiles aren't always displayed when Map Overlay feature is used.

Solved

I'm using Map Overlays with a Mapsforge vector map as the overlay and an online provider as the base map. A few users are experiencing the same problem.

Portions of the map aren't loading. It's displaying white tiles. The attachment shows an example. Neither map source is being displayed. The top white block has text from the vector map that starts out in it. "...bel Preser". If it couldn't download the tile from the online provider then it should have at least displayed the label from the offline map on top.

Good day Lee,

interesting. It looks like white areas are only in places where the vector map does not have any data, is it possible? What about some city areas or generally areas where is a lot of information that vector map print? Is there the same issue?

Also, what Locus Map version and what vector maps are you using?

That is exactly the problem. It doesn't display the online map source tile if there isn't any vector data for within the bounds of the tile.

The vector map is California Trail Map. I am the creator of it. I've got several hundred people using it. Only two of them have reported the problem. They're both running Locus Maps 3.38.7

Hello, fine then problem is not loading of online map, but the fact that vector overlay map draw white tiles when there are no data instead of transparent tile.

Is it possible to download somewhere mentioned map and map theme that cause tris problem? Thanks

Good day Lee,

thank you for emailed access to your maps. Vector map downloaded and used, but unfortunately, I can't find a place with this issue. Does same issue happen to you too? If so, which map theme are you using? Any special or standard Locus Map > hiking theme? May you please also write me coordinates of a place where this issue happen?

Interesting is that I was fixing this issue 21. 6. 2019 so it should be correctly fixed in latest 3.38.7 version. Also, no other users of Locus Map reported this problem. Weird.

There are 220 people using the vector map with Locus. Only two have reported the problem. I'm unable to reproduce on any of my devices.

They're using the CA Trail Theme the is installed with the map. Transparent background is selected. Show Non Motorized Trails is selected.

One user observed that it starts at zoom level 14 then gets worse as you zoom in.

These are locations that exhibit the problem in their screenshots. It really seems to be any where that there aren't objects when zoomed in closer than level 14.

Good day Lee,

thanks for additional information. I think I've found something. In the next version (probably at the end of this week), it should be ok.

Hello Lee,

do you have any information from your two customers about the mentioned problem? Is it solved with latest Locus Map versions (3.39.3/3.39.4)?
