MBTiles map: cannot open it with LocusPro
Answered
I've copied this file
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3180464/Bert20130601Alphav1.mbtiles
to my other maps folder but cannot even see it from within LocusPro
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Hello,
when I insert you map into Locus/maps and start Locus, I get "File is encrypted or is not a database" error message.
Attempt to open in SQLite editor - file is encrypted.
Locus is not able to read encrypted MBT maps, sorry.

http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:maps_personal
states:
Supported Map FormatsMBT - MBTiles is SQLite based map format, maintained by MapBox company.
What do you mean by encrypted? I did not do anything to encrypt. It is just a geotif file saved
as MBTiles using Qgis
Alternatively, what is the easiest way to export a geotif to a format supported by LocusMap?

Agustin, I'm saying ENCRYPTED. You MBT map (SQLite database) is encrypted and Locus is not supporting encrypted SQLite databases.

Unfortunately I'm not working with QGIS, so you have to ask on their support forum.
If you anyway install any SQLite database viewer and will try to open your generated map file, you will get warning that you need to insert password to open this file (file is encrypted).
Manual page: old manual was switched for a new version, but old topics are still available here: http://docs_old.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:convert_images_to_sql&

Qgis just uses gdaltranslate, which I doubt is using any password to encrypt. I'll check in the gdal list and let you know.
Meanwhile, note that the MBTiles specification does not report that using encryption could even be possible

I've converted the geotif using MapTiler and the resulting MBTiles file works fine on LocusMap.
