Could you explain this a bit more?

What height do you want to measure and what is currently used for measuring it?

In our other Navigation software(Sygic-Aura) there is an indication off the height where you are remaining, I believe it is measured by GPS-coordinates and not through pressure capture(not very accurate and very depending on wheather circumstances.

Hmm, I`m still not sure I understand.

1. Your device (Huawei U8180) do not probably have pressure sensor.

2. Support for pressure sensor have to be enabled manually in Locus settings (menu > settings > sensors > Enable pressure sensor). Without this, altitude is just from GPS.

When you tap on GPS button (to satellite screen http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php/manu...), altitude value here is from GPS, in your case (again, if you do not have enabled pressure sensor)

So please, try to explain me in more detail, what is your idea. Thank you

Hello Menion,

Indeed my GSM does not have pressure sensor.

I thought height in Locus became height from on line service.

Now i see GPS does calculate height, only in my case GPS gives height unknown.

With a good GPS-fix it is OK.

Thanks,

Bert Crommar.

PS.: What about Map-center?

there are two situations

1. you want manually display altitude next to red center cross - it`s called dynamic altitude and here it takes altitude from offline srtm files or if they not exists, online

2. you want to fill altitude for points or tracks. Here you have choice, if you want offline or online source

in these two cases, locus may use online access to obtain altitude. all other cases when you work with altitude are only from GPS. So altitude values in satellite screen, altitude at recorded points, and some other places

and yes, you have to have GPS fix, otherwise GPS software is not able to compute it
