Missing track points in recorded track

Hello,

what happend me? I did my cycling trip and record it by Locus. While we had a break (beer of course :-) ) I pressed Pause button, when we continue in trip I pressed Pause again to continue in recording. Last break probably I pressed Pause not well (it stay in Pause recording mode) and I found out it in next 20km. Then I pressed Pause button well and recording had continue.

The recorded track is not completed, there are missing some track points (cca 20km) when the locus was paused.

I would like to ask you, if there is possible to edit recorded track, add missing track points there to complete my track?

Thank you for your answer

Hi Mato,

you can edit the track in Locus - open it on the map, tap it and select "Edit on map" from the popup menu. Then select the trackpoint from which you can edit the track (with arrows in the bottom bar) and "Insert/edit trackpoint" from the tool menu.

Hi

yes, i have used this menu "Edit on map -> Insert/Edit trackpoint" but nothing happens. Maybe i do smth wrong. Here is the picture what I see in screen. When I click on Insert/Edit trackpoint then tap in map (red cross), tap on OK (right up corner), Lotus is doing something, but no new point created. :-(

hm, it looks like the "Insert/edit trackpoint" is not ON - it would be if there are new green and red dots (auxiliary points) at the end of the line. See http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:tracks:planning#editing_already_saved_tracks_and_routes

I have been caught in pause mode by mistake too. Won't help this time, but in future ensure there is the Track Recording button on screen, and always check icon is red when you expect, and regularly.

Now I know that I had to check the color of record button. I have set the recording panel on the left side, but when I paused recording, there are only 3 small buttons for Stop , Pause, add Point (photo, video, audio) and Pause button was only like pulsing. I did not hide this panel so I not saw green/red REC button. Maybe for future good idea to change color (and icon) in middle button. While recording same as now, orange background color with pause icon, while paused, change to e.g. green backround with red play icon.

I have separate button at top of screen. Always red, orange or clear. Maybe idea for you?

There's the recording widget or you can use bottom recording panel or slide the paused left recording panel in - the tab is orange then... a lot of options, just select one and get used to it.

  • The recording widget has status ON/OFF only. There is no PAUSE status.
  • Left side panel, what I have used, must be hidden, then you can see recording status (green=recording, orange=paused), If panel is not hidden only pulsing pause button means status Pause is ON.

Now I will try third option, bottom recording panel, I see.

Thank you for your advices

You probably did not test the recording widget properly - it HAS pause status, see http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:tracks:recording:panel#track_recording_widget

You are right. I did not use noted widget, because I did not find it in my widgets list.

I have read that widget is available only in Pro version and root folder must be in internal storage (help topic)

I m using LocusMap Pro. I have the Locus folder in device internal storage, and maps in external SD card in folder LocusSD. My device is rooted. In attachments are printscreens of my current setting. Could you help me why the track recording widget is not available?

I've discussed your issue with the main developer and if all these conditions are fulfilled (see below) then it's not a standard issue (it's most probably your root/ROM/kernel-specific) and we don't know the solution:

- Locus Map Pro

- Locus directory in the inner memory

one more thing - check in your system settings if your Locus is really installed in your internal memory - see attached screenshot

Yeap, This one was the problem. I have moved Locus app from SD card to Internal in application manager, restart the phone and voila, widged was there.

Thank you very much for your help, willingness and patience
