Missing track after Locus crash - any way to recover it?
Solved
This weekend it was first time I used Locus as track recording software and I have problem. Suddenly there was message "Locus was closed" and I've lost all recorded points (4-hours long track). When I opened Locus again track recording line didn't exist and I couldn't found it. There was some "Locus cache" directory but it was empty...
I've used Orux before and in this case after restarting Orux track was "self-recovered" and there are no lost data...
Is there any way to recover lost data (tracks) in Locus? It was good track in Romanian mountains...
Hello Tomek,
I'm sorry you had such negative experience for first usage. It's quite weird what you wrote, because:
1) Locus periodically save state of current recording to Locus/cache/track_rec directory
2) this Locus/cache directory should never be empty. There are always at least some pre-prepared folders
3) Locus after start always offer continue in terminated track recording (if not yet saved).
Fact, that 'cache' directory is empty and also that Locus crashed should mean, there is something wrong with your SD card.
Do you have any other issues with your card, in any other program?

It is Asus Memo Pad, I use built-in memory, not sd card.
When Locus crashed I opened it again and start record track manually. New track was recorded. Old track (few hours of recording) disappeared...

Hello Tomek,
sorry for a missing response. Are you still using Locus or after first negative experience, you gave up this app? I'm reading carefully once more problem you describe and unfortunately I'm unable to find any single reason, why you should lost your track after record.
Only possibility - there was one issue in older 3.2.3 version, where cache was not correctly initialized. Maybe this was also your case? In latest 3.3.1 version, this is already fixed and we had no more any problems with recording, etc.
If you'll have any more questions, feel free to write us.

I'm still using Locus of course, because it is the best application for me.
I use it on my 4x4 trip and mountain hiking mostly, so for now it is a little bit break in my "activity". If the problem will occur again I will let you know...
Thanks for support!

Oki, good to hear. You are welcome and sorry for a troubles. Track
record is one of most tested features so I believe, there should be no
more problems.
