Missing Compass

A lot of users asked for this "very secret" function ;)
The compass can only be used with an shortcut on the right panel.
Q: What is the important reason for this?!
I don`t want spaming my place on the right panel with this, because i need this not very often. But WHEN i want to use it, I have to create a shortcut on the right panel
Annoying ;P
I don`t create an idea - because maybe there is a simply answer for this behave.

Hmm simple answer is use case of compass.
How other you need to use compass just without enabled guiding?
There are common use case:
1. guiding on point
2. guiding along track
3. requirements to know orientation
Where
1. compass is needed but may be called from sub-menu of point
2. usually do not need compass, but also may be called from a sub-menu
3. is here really needed to know just an orientation? Usually you see something on map and wants to know direction. Then you may use point 1. (directly enable guiding) or better use rotate of map that will show correct orientation
So reason, why compass isn`t visible on more places (btw. do not know where also put it), is that I don`t see reason for this

We’ve already discussed it with Menion couple months ago...without no result :/
You’re right that this function is not needed so often but is it something what users expect from outdoor navigation app. We even have a screenshot with compass on Google play. So if user install Locus and want to see compass > cannot find it > frustration > uninstall..
We performed some usability test in March and I often seen following situation: Users open GPS screen > Press compass button and they expected that this button shows compass itself.
So what about split GPS screen between two separate tabs. One of them shows current GPS screen and the second one will show compass screen??

add to functions is task on a minute ... this is not a problem.
Problem is that list already contain too much items ...
but merging GPS & Compass screens to one with tabs is quite interesting idea ...

On cloudy days it can be nice to know where the sun would be at a day with sunshine. I need this for scouting for time lapse photos. I do the research on cloudy days and make the time lapse at other days. Same for moon. Please add the moon position and if half or full moon as symbol.

I already open a new topic concerning moon.
How about the idea to make the Zoom lock / Magnifier button on the bottom of the home page as menu, so that you can decide if you want to use it as Zoom lock / Magnifier button or as compass button?

I don`t know ... is this really better solution?
It works nice now, have to say it`s very usable because you may very quickly check, why the hell, compass arrow do not move :)
on second side, white tabs & black design do not look good
