I like the funktion POI Shelter. Is it possible to ad tourism=wilderness_hut to se free huts.

I'm not sure whether you mean "search for wilderniss hut in offlinde POI DB" or "display wilderness hut in the map". If you want the latter, check out Elevate hiking theme from http://www.openandromaps.org

Not better, just different ;-)

On the Internet you'll find many ready-made GPX/KML-files for download and I guess there is one for huts etc., at least for a certain country or region. In Locus, you can import them as waypoints (=you can search them but they fill up the database thus slowing down several operations) or as map items (=are "a kind of" background info)

Moreover, Locus has a build-in POI DB - mostly interesting because it's working offline, offers search by name and distance, but I don't know what hut/shelter types are contained (I guess only Locus support team can answer that)

that's not bad idea. Would have please some example of paper topo map where is shown such type of hut? I'd like to see some example of symbol for this hut.

Hi Petr, sorry, I did not find any legend online and as I'm on a business travel I can't simply take a photo of some paper maps. Usually you'll find such huts displayed in topo hiking maps, e.g. of the Alpine region and Scandinavia. Typically, the icon goes into the direction .\ele_res\s_alpine_hut.png or of .\ele_res\s_shelter.png in http://www.openandromaps.org/kartenlegende/elevation-hike-theme Depending on the country, huts can be somewhere in a continuum between very basic shelter (just 4 walls with a roof and a bare floor) to nice self service huts (with wood chopping facilities, oven, tables, cooking facility including pans etc). Hence, the icons may vary, i.e. have different overlays or sub-icons to indicate different hut service levels. Cheers, Georg

I see. I only want to have some idea how are shown on professional maps. I can also understand the differences but we need to find some general symbol for all countries. I'll check it.

Ahh after one year - implemented. LoMaps maps contain wilderness hut and internal themes display them similar to alpine hut.
