Move Locus storage to the internal memory

I have a Milestone 2 and lots of unused internal memory. But all data of Locus is on the sd-card. Is there a way for me, to move the locus-data to internal memory? As Menion recommend on the official help sites, it should be possible. What I figured out until now, that I can create an image-file located in the internal memory and can mount it to /mnt/sdcard/Locus. But this seems really unstable and buggy to me. More stable seems to be, if I mount this image to /mnt/sdcard0 and place the Locusfolder there. But then Locus won`t found this place and create a new folder at /mnt/sdcard/Locus. Is there another way, to move Locus to the internal Memory?

hello Elias, how you mount your images into your folder structure? It`s important to have defined your mount points also in "/etc/vold.fstab"

anyway in locus is also internal list of predefined mountpoints and you`re correct, /mnt/sdcard0 is missing there. I`ve added there /mnt/sdcard1 but forget on 0

Hello Menion,

thank you for your response. I tried some time different methods, but without success.

The first method i tried, was to create an image in /data/sdcard.img and mount it into /mnt/sdcard1. I can mount it by hand and move the locus directory there. But when I start Locus, it announces, that there is no free memory left and stops. An automatic mount via /etc/vold.fstab (thanks for this hint!) with the entry "dev_mount sdcard1 /mnt/sdcard1 auto /data/sdcard.img" did not work. After a reboot, there is no directory /mnt/sdcard1.

The other method was to create an directory /data/sdcard1 an link it to /mnt/sdcard1 via "ln -s /data/sdcard /mnt/sdcard1". I can move the Locus folder there and start Locus. But Locus generates a new folder in sdcard and the Information-Screen of Locus says, that it uses /mnt/sdcard/Locus and has a dublicate in /mnt/sdcard1/Locus.

At this piont I stopped my efforts, because it is not sooo important, that I will investigate so much time.

By the way: I like the new map shading really much! Thank you for including this nice feature. And the vector maps are also really cool. Together with track recording and geocaching features this app is an charme! :-)

And I have an Idea, which could be possibly useful: On my Milestone 2 the vectormaps rendering is not to fast. And if I move around on the maps, the tiles will every time re-rendered. Can there be added an buffer like on the online-maps, which stores recently and often used tiles for faster showing?
