Hi,
Nowadays the behavior seems to be such that if you have an imported route which you want to navigate and you press a start point of that route you get a pop-up with options. Once you select "Guide on" you get a direct line from your current position to that starting point.
I think it would be better to have a question if you want to navigate to the beginning of that route and if yes, Locus asks MapQuest to route you to that point in where Locus should ask if you want to start the route?
Good idea +point

And such click on "Navigate to start" should do what? Copy whole track to different application (like Google Maps) and allow navigation along this track?
EDIT: wait you talk about "Startpoint", sorry. But this should be already possible. You may tap on startpoint of a track and start external navigation program that navigates you to this point. As well as for common waypoint.

maybe I'm missing something, but I can't directly tap on the startpoint, as this is no POI and thereby only the track gets selected. I have to manually zoom in near the start of my track and long press to get a point I can pass to an external navigation app

Hmm you are correct. If I remember correctly, in some previous versions it worked that way. Tap on start/end point choose this point together with track itself. Interesting.
Anyway I found a simple improvement. In context menu of track popup will be now another button "Point info", which display "Point screen" for current selected point. Better then description - you'll see in next version. Let me know if such solution is useful.

thx for the _really_ fast update :) It's a little bit better now, but IMHO there are still more steps needed then necessary
I'd like to
now I have to
merry Christmas and keep up the great work

Hello Rainer,
I think that "Navigate to start point" isn't task, you need to do 10 times per day or is it? Because if not, then amount of taps should not be a problem. New version allows to quickly work with first/last point of track, so IT IS possible to start navigation on this point.
I know, it took 8 steps, instead of 4 (in case you have a track already on a map, it's even faster), but how often you need such task and how many people need such feature? If imagine 5 %, then 95 % of people will have in menu another button "Navigate to start point", which they never use!
It's required to look on it from both sides (my work) and I believe that the method how it works now, is ... enough :). What you think? And relaxing Christmas to you too!

Yeah, I know you can't implement every wish and have to keep some focus. In my opinion Locus already can be a little bit overwhelming with all it's options and features so I get it, it's hard to keep the balance of a feature rich app that is still easy to use.
The point is if it takes too many steps, it's easier to just directly launch the navigation app and enter the rough position. Also discoverability isn't that great, to me it's more of a workaround if you are really looking for a way to achieve this. As for how often I would use this task: once per track before I start isn't that often, but honestly this is still more than I can say about most of the features in the track menu. To me it's a much less obscure feature then for example the area calculation of a track.
Well the status of this idea is now set to "collecting votes", so if not more votes or comments are coming in, obviously no one else is seeing this as particularly useful.
