Navigation announcements are no longer working properly
Solved
Hi,
In recent days, navigation announcements are no longer working properly. And the GPS either:
- The smartphone (Galaxy S7 with Oreo) no longer lights up automatically for management announcements ...
- I do not have the voice Google (while the system voice works).
- The GPS disconnects 60 seconds after switching off the smartphone.
Hi,
"The smartphone (Galaxy S7 with Oreo) no longer lights up automatically for management announcements ..."
- check Locus settings > Controlling > Display > Screen on/off control > is it ON and "turn on when notified of a track" is checked? If not, turn it on a check.
"I do not have the voice Google (while the system voice works)."
- check Locus settings > Language&units > Text to speech > Select Google TTS. If it is not present, you have to install it from Google Play.
"The GPS disconnects 60 seconds after switching off the smartphone."
- exclude Locus from your device battery optimization. More info: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:gps_lost_fix_android6#samsung

Bonjour et merci pour votre réponse.
1 - "The smartphone (Galaxy S7 with Oreo) no longer lights up automatically for management announcements ..."
- check Locus settings > Controlling > Display > Screen on/off control > is it ON and "turn on when notified of a track" is checked? If not, turn it on a check.
==>It is actived and the 3 notifications are checked (photo)
2 - "I do not have the voice Google (while the system voice works)."
- check Locus settings > Language&units > Text to speech > Select Google TTS. If it is not present, you have to install it from Google Play.
==> The Google TTS application is installed but the voice test does not work when Google voice synthesis is selected. Offline it only works in English but not in French. It only works in French when I am connected to the internet (photo)
3 - The GPS disconnects 60 seconds after switching off the smartphone."
- exclude Locus from your device battery optimization.
==> Locus is not part of the optimized applications for the battery (photos)
Do jou think that my problems are the result of the Oreo update I made on June 24th ?

...... More information: This morning I activated the 'Samsung Health' application and I left it active in the background. This solves problems 1 and 3 on Locus. But when I close 'samsung health' the problems come back.

...... And one more information:
Point '2' ==> I just discovered that the French language had disappeared from the Google language pack. I reinstalled the voice data and it works now.
But I still do not find the solution for point 3. (Because the point '1' will probably be set when the point '3' will be set).

Hi,
for point 1) Locus needs to have system administrator rights so that it can switch display on and off
point 3) - try all methods listed in this manual article: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:gps_lost_fix_android6#samsung
best regards

Hi Michal,
for point 1) - It is OK as long as the gps is not disconnected
For point 3) - I tried all the methods (including the installation of memory locker) but without result.
PS ; The GPS turn off exactly 60 seconds after screen off and no function needs location in locus; while this setting is not enabled in Locus (see screenshot)
Thank you

Hi,
ad 1) so if GPS is disconnected, automatic display switching on/off based on navigation does not work?
ad 3) if you have navigation or track recording turned on, does the GPS turn off too?
Hi,

ad 3) if you have navigation or track recording turned on, does the GPS turn off too?
ad 1) so if the GPS is disconnected, automatic display switching on/off based on navigation does not work?
automatic display switching on/off based on navigation works randomly. Sometimes the screen turns on and the announcement is made, but sometimes the screen does not come on and the announcement is not made; and sometimes the screen turns on and the announcement is made but too late.
I hear from time to time the sound associated with the lost position; but that does not mean I will not have the announcement of the next turn. I may have it ...? But I may not have the announcement of the other next turn! And it's not because I do not hear the sound associated with the lost position that the next turn will be announced !!!. I do not understand anything and I spent my day testing.
I notice that the cursor indicating my GPS position updates his position when I turn on the screen and I am in navigation.
When I am navigating and I deviate from the course, the transition to orientation works properly
The parameter 'command frequency' is on 'medium'
Of course I am not in energy saving mode
ad 3) if you have navigation or track recording turned on, does the GPS turn off too?
For navigation, see above
For recording, it works properly. Profile 'walk' : time period between recorded trackpoint = 10s.
Everything works fine with the Samsung S5 of my wife and the parameters are the same as those of my S7. I think the Oreo download is the cause of my problem because the problem appeared after the Oreo download.
Cordialement,

...... Suite et fin !!!
Good news Michal,
I uninstalled and reinstalled Locus. Then I re-set manually (same settings as before) and I have no problem. GPS works properly.
Congratulations and thank you very much for your availability!
