Navigation: wrong ''distance to target" when navigating from Map point to Map point ?

With the GPS position on point A, and trying to estimate the navigation from point X to point Y, the 'distance to target' displayed (190m) corresponds to the distance A to X + X to Y, I would have expected the distance from X to Y (around 82m) because I indicated Y as target and X as starting point...
