NeoTreks maps not downloading and installing after purchase
Not a Problem
Purchased the NeoTreks Mt Hood National Forest map and tried to download and install. Says it is downloading but eventually errors out after an hour (or so):
Locus Maps Pro has permissions to write to SD Card location(s). Using Samsung Galaxy S9 with latest Android Pie (9).

Hi Robert,
I'm sorry for troubles. Honestly I would suggest to use only internal memory. However please check the free space on the sdcard in first step.
After that try to download map again. Wait for error message and as quick as possible please collect the log file as described at https://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:how_to_create_debug_log
Thank you for your help
Regards
Petr

I ininstalled Locus Map, then reinstalled into internal storage. I then attempted to load the NeoTreks map. Same issue. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've purchased NeoTreks maps, and they seem to have problems. You'd think I'd learn!

Petr,
Your instructions for doing a log file are for Android 4.4. I'm running Android 9 (Pie).
I was successful in installing the NeoTreks map by doing the following:
1) Uninstall Locus Map Pro
2) Delete directories on internal and external memory (sdcard)
3) Restart phone
4) Re-install Locus Map Pro
5) Move application to SD Card via Settings > Apps > Locus Map > Storage > Change > SD card (I did this because internal memory on my phone is around 80%)
6) While still in Settings > Apps > Locus Map window, tap "Permissions"
7) Tap ellipsis (3 vertical dots) in upper right-hand corner, then tap "All Permissions"
8) Back out of all Settings windows
9) Launch Locus Map Pro
10) Navigate to Maps > Offline
11) Tap "Plus" button, then "Offline maps download"
12) Navigate to NeoTreks tile, choose "Mt Hood National Forest", then "Download"
13) The NeoTreks map downloaded and installed normally
14) I repeated Steps 10 and 11 and installed the Oregon LoMaps
So far, the application seems to be working normally.
I use Locus Maps Pro because it is the only Android application that lets me connect to an external GPS device (I use a Bad Elf Pro) via Bluetooth. There are other solutions, be they are very expensive.

Dear Robert,
thank you for detailed description and I'm sorry for complication. I'm not sure if all these steps were needed but I'm glad to hear that issue is solved.
I would suggest another approach: to keep Locus in the internal memory, download the map and after that move map file manually on the sdcard and use such maps as "external maps". Please see https://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:locus_on_external_sdcard#raster_maps
I'd like to also mention that if you use folder /Android/data/menion.locus/.... all data are deleted when uninstall the app. Unfortuantely the Neotreks maps can be downloaded only once. Please use any file manager and backup (for example copy to the PC) downloaded Neotreks from mentioned folder.
Thank you
Petr
