NetworkLink (refreshMode=onInterval) when Locus is not in focus
Not a Problem
One more issue about NetworkLink.
If NetworkLink refreshes on interval:
-
<refreshMode>onInterval</refreshMode>
<refreshInterval>5</refreshInterval>
Locus continue refreshing even if Locus not in foreground or if screen is off.
So, if I "close" Locus by pressing "Home" (not double "Back") - Locus continue to generate traffic, but I don't know about this. Same thing with turning screen off.
I think, this is bug, not feature :)
Are you sure, this is a bug? Why this should work differently? There is request on periodic updates - if you will ride a bike with disabled screen, it do not automatically mean, that you do not want fresh data every few minutes (defined by KML).
I personally do not see this as a bug, but as an expected behavior.
Anyone other opinion?

But why Locus stop downloading tiles and turn off GPS when I turn off screen or leave it by pressing home button?
It will be very unexpectedly to user, that's Locus generate traffic in background.
When, for example, Locus recording track in background - there is special notifications to make background work evident to user.

Stops downloading tiles - should not. If this happen, it is an issue, but I never heard, Locus stop it.
Turn off GPS - Locus has many mechanisms, how to reduce battery consumption. In case, GPS is not needed, it is turned off as often, as possible. Enable "track record" and GPS will stay turned on all the time, logically.
Unexpected traffic - I still cannot agree, sorry. I believe that all apps, that do any synchronization (email, hangout, rss readers, ...) do traffic on background without any notification. I just think, that when refresh is set on every five minutes and you do not turn off this refresh, then I expect that I really receive fresh data every five minutes. There should be some action depending on this - POI alert, guiding - and in case, there will be no fresh data, Network link feature will be useless in these cases.
