New track recording session when locus app is launch
Answered
Autostart recording function is very important for me as it allows me see where i already been on that day for offroad navigation purpose. The problem is that i have to discard manually the recording session every time at the end of the ride. if i forget, the recording will continue when i open the app from the previous session, crowding the map, showing path from previous days and adding useless data when i need to save the track.
Is there a way to discard automatically the current recording so when i launch the app its a new recording session?
Maybe with a tasker plugin??
Hi Patrick,
no, it is not possible to discard track recording without the user taking action - stop the track recording or the whole app.

What about implementing an action to discard current recording in the locus map tasker plugin to do that? so i could automate the action with tasker app when the device shuts down.
Thanks for your answer.

Hi Patrick,
it is possible to control track recording via the tasker, see https://medium.com/@menion.asamm/action-tasks-tasker-1edb2a262b9f. Here are some more commands and parameters for it: https://github.com/asamm/locus-api/wiki/Action-tasks-(Broadcasts)#track_record. Anyway, nobody has needed to stop the recording by this method - stopping the app (double back button) triggers a dialog stopping the recording too.
