No GPS following update

I have updated to Locus Map 3.16.2 and have no GPS. I had carried out the same exercise with my wife's 'phone in order to assess the update before doing it with mine, specifically so that no issues ensued! GPS is enabled on her 'phone. 'Satellites' screen on my 'phone states, "No satellites". A message appears when tapping the GPS icon stating, "Last known location is outdated" and "Consider enabling GPS for better positioning".

Subsequent to the above:

Now, tapping the GPS icon in the lower left of the screen brings me to my location, and the latitude and longitude in the 'Satellites' screen on both 'phones reads almost identically, yet my screen continues to state, 'No satellites' and the icon at the top of the Functions panel remains orange.

Good day Bob,

I expect you use internal GPS ( not some external Bluetooth GPS ). In such case, only what I think may cause it, is settings directly in your Android device settings.

Because I do not know even what device and Android version you have, I'll expect it's most common Android 5, in this case please open your device settings and in "Location" settings check your "Mode". There needs to be enabled "High accuracy" or "Device only" to let allow other applications to use GPS in your device.

Hope this helps.

My Android version is 4.4. My wife's 'phone's Location Mode is set to 'High accuracy' and mine to 'Device only'. I have not changed any settings on my 'phone and I have never had an issue with previous versions of Locus Map Pro. Changing my Location Mode to 'High accuracy' solves the problem, however. This must remain a mystery, I guess. The most important factor is that satellites are seen once more.

I thank you for your assistance in pointing me to the answer.

Good day Bob, quite insteresting. I've just tried same on own device and even with "Device only", I see satellites and GPS in Locus works fine. Hmm, maybe miracle cure - restart of device - may help here?

Anyway at least you have found, how to solve it. With "device only" mode, do you observe same behavior with different application like Google Maps or other?

I tested Google Maps; my location is recognised. I returned to Locus Map Pro, switching location modes between 'High accuracy' and 'Device only'. 'Device only' allowed my location to be recognised as I wrote in my first post but still 'No satellites'. Switching further between location modes, satellites now display in 'Device only' mode! All of this without powering off my 'phone.

I must let you return to more important work!

Hello, hmm this looks for me like some issue in device itself. Anyway if you do not see "satellites" symbols on skyplot, but still get valid GPS fix (blue circle on map screen and green GPS icon), then it's main and missing satellites are more just cosmetic issue.

I'll keep watching it and in case I found something why this happen, I'll let you know. I always hope that such "crazy" issues happen also on own device, but in most of cases, it do not happen, unfortunately :).
