"Not valid data" for blueetooth tomtom gps

I am using external tomtom bluetooth gps with the newest version of Locus Pro 3.3.1 with Android 4.4 (cyanogenmod) on Samsung Galaxy S+ and it works fine.

I tried the same (Locus free) on another phone with Android 4.2.2 (phone Overmax Famy II), devices are paired correctly in bluetooth seetings. Then I see green banner that Locus is connected to TomTom.

However, satellites map is empty and when I check Locus bluetooth manager menu I see "not valid data" information under on/off switch.

Sensor is set as ON and Turn on GPS field is ticked.

Could you help me if it is related to Locus or for some reasons this Android compilation (4.2.2) is not able to properly work with bluetooth and locus?

Thanks

Good day Mieczyslaw,

sorry for a later response. I'm just checking own GPS QT STARZ because of some different BT GPS problem and it seems to work correctly.

Did you tried also different application from Google Play (like Bluetooth GPS or other), if they work with your BT GPS so you can say, it's definitely issue in Locus?

If so, may you please create for me a log by this method http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:how_to_create_debug_log - there should be any useful information why this do not work.

Thank you and sorry for a troubles.

Hi!

I don't know why but Google Play shows that Bluetooth GPS App (I was using it with Android 2.3 and 4.4 as a source of location for c:geo) is not compatible with this device (Android 4.2.2, overmax famy II). No idea why?

I will prepare this debug report soon so hopefully we will be able to decide if it is linked to a problematic bluetooth chipset on this phone or other reasons.

Thanks

Hmm interesting.

There is anyway more then one app, so you should try different.

And why? Sorry, it depends on what developer specified in it's configuration file. Anyway from my own experience, Google Play is not 100% in his offers, so sometimes it incorrectly report incompatibility. "Funny" on this is, that you can do absolutely nothing (even a dev) :/. (ah rarely helps clear cache of Google Play and restart device)

I tried to create the log from Developers Options but surprisingly option 'Take bug report' is inactive (grey color, impossible to click on it).

I tried several times this bluetooth device - so Locus sometimes got a location, then after few seconds lost connection like with the device which is externally switched off, then it is able to connect and get a location again (e.g. after few minutes). Sometimes it looks that it is connected but there is no data (like this 'not valid data').

On the other hand Locus works fine with internal GPS.

Is there any way I can locate the source of this problem if this option to take a bug report cannot be used?

Thanks for help.

Probably not helpful at all..but here it goes :-)

I'm using an old Nokia Gps modul LD-3W..got it from ebay a couple of years ago for small money.

Absolutly worth it, has never failed to connect or pair with Locus Pro for 15 months of version history!

Galaxy Note 3

Android 4.4.2 (non-rooted)

Locus Pro 3.4.0
