Offline maps disappeared after update to 3.20.0
Closed
Hello
My folder :\Locus\maps (on internal and also SD storage) is empty after update to 3.20.0.
Locus ask me to choose default folder for Locus Map Pro at start. Message: changes in folders Locus Map Pro.
No matter which I choose dont works - sure, both places are empty ... I hope I will found somewhere my tourist map with layers of extra roads...
I have tried various programs to restore deleted data but nothing was found. (I dont delete anything I just trying everything...)
Any solutions? Thanks
Hi,
during update Locus does not delete maps in Locus/Maps directory. And it creates a new directory structure only if it can't find the original one. So the only way how the maps could "disappear" from your directory is that the directory must have been renamed/transferred or removed. Do you remember the path to your maps in your original Locus installation? Did you have you original Locus root directory on the external SD card private folder Android/data/menion.android.locus.pro/files?

Hi, I am not sure about path, I think it was installed on internal storage and then moved to external SD card, but now each .../maps directory are empty (on SD and also internal) I don´t understand what happened but it was probably overwritten by empty maps folder.

Hi, as I've said, Locus can't overwrite its own directories nor their content - it just creates new in case it couldn't find the original directories. Another option is some HW problem of your external SD card that made Locus create new directories.

So path was H(SDcard):\Locus\maps and date of last modification of each folder in this path is same as was time of update 3.20.0. I don't find any problems with SD, no missing another data etc. Maybe SD was not prepared in time (after start of phone/it spend some minute...) and new directories were created in same time as old dir. appeared.
As you wrote: "And it creates a new directory structure only if it can't find the original one. "
I still don't know what happened, but result was missing maps and saved tracks...

So you have Locus root directory on your external SD card root directory? And what version of Android do you have? Haven't you also updated your operation system?
