Offsetting map view according to direction of travel
Answered
Hello
I have had a look but cannot find this option...if it exists.
What I would like to do is to offset the point that the map centres on (when tracking my position) according to the direction of travel. That way I can see more of what is ahead of me on the map, rather than the ground I have already covered. I have used a GPS plotter that does this and the options are ½ distance to the screen edge and ¾ of the same. It's a useful function.
Is this possible, please?
Thanks,
BobG

Thanks Wolfgang, that is indeed what I was looking for. I had to learn about map rotation before I got there and then the orientation filter to make it more usable, but I'm a happy bunny now.
All the best,
Bob

Hi Bob, another option is to set custom GPS marker position - long-tap the centering button in bottom left corner and select "set custom GPS marker position" - then drag the screen center cursor to a custom position and confirm it in the top bar. Double tap on the centering button returns the GPS marker on its original position.
