Optimize existing track

Is that possible to optimize track by delete extra points that don't respect the minimal distance between points?
I know that it's possible to define this before recording track, but is it possible to do it with an existing track?

so, it looks it took few years, till someone like You asked for this. For my very big surpise. So no, it is not yet possible, because no one till now wanted this enough to create a new idea here on help desk. So feel free to create a new Topic - Idea and then just hope for a more votes ;).
