OS Opendata as an offline map

Answered

in my job i visit multiple farms per day, if and when i have a phone signal i use OS Maps (Google Play), the only map i need from it is the standard map, which isn't available as a offline map

so i thought i would download the appropriate maps from OS Opendata (which are Geotiff files) and have them as an offline map in Locus Pro, but as i have 0 experience with maps, it isn't working out so well, i have managed to convert them into a kmz with Global Mapper and get them into Locus Pro as an overlay but that just grinds my Locus Pro to a standstill and is non usable

is there any way to convert these to an offline map with Global Mapper so it can be used in Locus Pro, i would prefer to keep them separated the way they are downloaded (in quadrants SH, SJ, SM, SN, SO, SR, SS and ST)

one of the smaller area's have been uploaded in case anyone asks for a link - https://gofile.io/?c=UpMdnt

Hi, there are probably two or three possible sollutions.

  • You can use Mapc2mapc SW as balloni55 already wrote. (BTW: I used to for OS data CRS https://epsg.io/27700 )
  • You can convert geotiff files to mbtiles using QGIS http://discuss.locusgis.com/t/how-to-import-geotiff/26/4
  • You can purchase/download 'JohnThornMaps' maps for GB in the Locus Store. Open Menu - Store and search for 'JohnThornMaps'. These maps are vector based created from OS Open data.
