Pauze the "GPS lost signal" when Track is Pauzed

Also Pauze (put on hold) the "GPS lost signal" when Track is Pauzed.

It is annoying to get continuous beeps when you Pauze the Track because your are somewhere inside for whatever reason.

It only has to alert for "GPS lost" when the system is Tracking.

Good day Zand,

if you pause track recording and you are not using any other function that really requires GPS, the app should turn off GPS (may be noticed also in top system status bar).

Test case:

  • start app and start track recording > GPS turns on
  • put app to the background by home button > GPS stays on
  • re-open app and pause track recording > GPS stays on because app is active
  • put app to the background by home button > GPS turns off because no function needs it

Does it work like that for you? If so, then mentioned improvement is not needed.

Hello Jiri,

Let me check...

  • start app and start track recording > GPS turns on
    YES
  • put app to the background by home button > GPS stays on
    YES
  • re-open app and pause track recording > GPS stays on because app is active
    YES
  • put app to the background by home button > GPS turns off because no function needs it
NO, but setting is set to do so
(see screen, in Dutch but it is:
    Location OFF items
1st Switch Off GPS is OFF
2nd Do not keep GPS Fix when when Track is Pauzed and screen is OFF
Or does this trigger the GPS Fix Signal Lost Alert Beep?!

I probably do not understand the mechanisme of these items or Translation is maybe not correct?

Hello,

thanks for detailed description and mainly screenshot.

Try to enable first option "Uitschakelen als app verbogen is". Maybe it is incorrect translation, hard to say for me. Original English text is here https://crowdin.com/translate/menion/3292/en-nl#q=disable+when+app . As I see, it is translated by Hank, who is well skilled Locus user!

Anyway hope this helps.

Hi guys,

@Zand: the number one switch should be ON for what you want. The other two switches are exemptions (uitzonderingen) on setting nr 1.

@menion: thanks :)
