Hello Aivaras,

in "Overlay" section in Online maps, are only public servers that may be used as overlays. If you want to use your own, you have two possibilities

1. you may use KMZ file with GroudOverlay part. This is fully supported by Locus and for this is used import method described here http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php/manu... - it use "Items" tab

2. you may create own SQLite map that may be used as overlay by this method http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php/manu... (hmm manual is not complete, but it`s this function).

KMZ files has advantages of easier creation (it`s readable KML format packed together with images into zip (KMZ) file). You may also calibrate images in Google Earth or other tool. Advantage of SQLite is mainly speed, which is higher then in KMZ and currently also ability to define intensity of transparency.

Both methods anyway need some skills and I currently do not know about any available manual, but maybe anyone from community?

Thank you for the answer. This is what i am trying to do. i calibrated jpg with on-board map calibrator.i overlayed it but the problem is that there is no way to make it transparent as sqlite format.the kmz transparency would solve all problems, because sometimes i need to move overlay to other map position and it would be easier to recalibrate jpg again with on-board map calibrator.

understand. In Locus function "On board .." is still missing ability to define transparency. This unfortunately miss also when you load overlay into Locus.

So if you want to set some transparency to GroundOverlay, you have to do it manually directly in the file. For now ...

you gave me a verry good idea.png supporting transparency,so with photoshop help i made a transparent png. it works, and better than overlaying.thank you, by the way,app is amazing.

Regarding print selected area:

Maybe this is what you need http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php/manu... current map view (as image) → Share screen

This would be a very nice feature. I have some photos I have used on-board map calibrator with. They are wonderful to see where you are on a trail, but it would be nice to be able to adjust the transparency so that I could still see the underlying map.

Hi, Aivaras,

I wanted to have transparent overlays, too, generated by the On-board map calibrator. So I tried all sorts of ways until I found the one, with which I got the results you see in the attached screenshots. I made them by Paint.NET (http://www.getpaint.net/):

1. File > open: the graphic file from which you want to generate the transparent map,

2. Layers > Layer Properties:

Name: just leave "Background"

Visible

Mode: Normal

Opacity: 255 is 100% Opacity = 0% Transparency

191 is 75% Opacity = 25% Transparency

etc.

OK

3. File: Save As...

4. Save Configuration:

Bit Depth: Auto-detect (or just click Defaults)

OK

That`s it!

Cheers!

Wilfried
