Please add TopPlusOpen maps

Awesome, thanks. But regrettably, like other online maps, fonts are super tiny on my smartphone.

You will see a huge change with the next version 3.38 ;)

Just for our information ... what is benefit of these maps? Asking if we should consider to add them into Locus Map officially ...

This map, if watched from a PC at least, offers a great overview. Perfect sizing of city names and fonts in general over all ZLs.

Idk, I just love it. A bit reminiscent of maps we had in our school books in Germany.

Mfv3 maps are a desaster when it comes to city names and font sizes and overview at lower ZL, well we all know it.

I have copied the content of TopPlusOpen.xml into providers.xml. The map is offered as an onlinemap, but no tiles are loaded.

This is a correct observation. New Locus Map version scale all raster maps based on the device DPI. The result should be that content of these maps should have similar sizes as content in the whole device, apps and also vector maps. Generally, all in Android is scaled based on DPI (density of the resolution) and raster maps were the only one, that wasn't (so usually everything in raster maps was really tiny).

Main benefit: raster maps are finally usable also on high DPI (most new) devices.

Bkg has changed its WMTS URL to

https://sgx.geodatenzentrum.de/wmts_topplus_open/1.0.0/WMTSCapabilities.xml

Of you change the above mentioned xml file according to that you should have success.

The string _web Was deleted in the URL

The TopPlusOpen is available as WMS/WMTS in Locus WMS library:

- Please open Menu > Map Manager > tab WMS/WMTS

- PLUS button to add new WMS or WMTS service

- search for OpenTopPlus

- select the service to add and display it

No crash with LMP latest, but TopPlusOPen WMS delivers zero overlay. Any idea, pls?

Did you remove the semicolon at the end of the url-tag (I forgot to delete that, was somehow inserted when I copied from my file)?

And did you use a unique id in the first line?

No better after I removed the ";" as you advised.

The ID is 1000, all other IDs are 10000+

The code editor in here is a bit buggy. Here the clean code, there was a bracket missing in the url tag.

Near giving up - but TXs for your efforts, Lopus.

I copied your definition into my providers.xml, but no change - no data transfer, no visible map overlay ...

Try putting this file into your folder "Locus > mapsOnline > custom"

No need to copy the code into the providers.xml, just move the file into the folder. Works on my device (as long as you do not use id=1000 somewhere else).

TXs for the file; I put it into that folder.

But it gets fully ignored by Locus

TopPlusOpen now in WMS/WMTS

Has been since a number of days, but the result is an empty screen, still. Trying Lops' file, using TopPlusOPen from the "Add" menu in Locus, or editing teh providers.xml directly. All of them still fail. On two devices (S10, Tab S6 lite)

@Michal Bechtold - what version do you use, please? And what exactly mean "Add" menu in Locus? Have you tried the mentioned WMTS service, please?

Hi Petr,

I am using latest Beta from GoogleDrive for LM4, as well as latest LMP.

- In LM4 in map manager, WMS tab, there is a "+". Which leads to immediate FC of LM4 and automatic restart.

- In LMP I can add this WMS by the button, but there is no map content coming.

- Going back to LM4 I can select this WMS now without crash, but also without any map data.

TopPlus Open works on my Garmin Tread with WMS :-)

@Michael - thank you for the testing. There are two different issues:

- there is problem in the latest beta when it isn't possible to select new WMS or WMTS service

- the production version can't really display the mentioned WMS - we'll check it

So please use the LM4 and add the TopPlusOpen WMTS (not WMS)

Two years ago, just because of this WMS service, I did some "hacks" to make it work. Seems they finally fixed issue on own server and this hack cause only troubles. WMS map (and crash in the latest Beta version), will be fixed in the next (Beta) version, thanks.
