POI description is different on ICS and JB

Robin99 shared this problem 12 years ago
Solved

Recently I`ve updated my SGS2 to JB firmware. And I`ve noticed in POI description there is problem with correct text alignment to right edge of a screen. Text is too narrow compared with screen (pic1). Also there is a vast empty area on the right - exists horizontal screen bar.

Problem disappears when I tap a zoom plus once (1), and then zoom minus (2) (pic2).

POIs are imported form gpx file. I can send example if you want.

Maybe could be possible to tap this buttons by software when the listing tab is opened.

Hi Robin,

ah I though it`s a problem only on 4.2+. Anyway when i test it, seems that different pages looks little bit different. To be true, when settings how to display web page in prepared web browser, in android is so many parameters that I`m not much clear from it :). After some testing, i probably found best solution, so check next version, because this should be fixed (release is planned on this friday)

Hello Robin,

unfortunately, this improvements has another side-effect here https://getsatisfaction.com/locus/top... .

so in next version I have to change loading of web pages back. Unfortunately I have no better solution. I tried your suggestion (zoom-in, zoom-out) automatically during a load, but it do really ugly animation and also corrupt loading of previous zoom and scroll state when you look on same web page

problems seems to be caused by images in HTML. When there are no images, it works fine ...

it`s a pity, but for me more important is good text alignment than zooming out to see a pictures ;). But i`ts a your decision what is more important. I hope it can be possible to reconcile these issues.

for me it`s also more important, because it`s mainly used more often. Anyway for this problem, helps simply zoom in/out as you suggested. On second problem is not any working workaround, so that`s the reason ...

Ok, I have a little crafty idea :) Maybe a new parameter in config file for now? Until you find a good solution.

I was on geocaching trip last weekend. I must say tapping two times on every single description of cache is very annoying. As I said in previous post, it would be great to set myself a parameter in config file. I think it would be the most easy and fast way to solve this issue for now.

so I as playing with it little more and probably found one solution. You`ll anyway have to wait till next test version or release. I`m sure it will work correctly ...

I have tested descriptions and yes it works perfectly now. Another good thing is smaller poi icons when large area is shown on the map. Thanks :)

Yes, I have noticed this. It`s very convenient feature. In test version maps sliding it seems much smoother.
