Point Attachment storage - phone limitation - 2 issues

My internal phone storage is maxed. I routinely have to move my point attachments (pics & vids) to external SD card. Because of the attachment naming convention, I can still find and review attachments for my associated points, albeit not as easily as if the attachment were still in it's original storage location.

1- I periodically I export tracks & points from my phone & import them into Locus on my tablet. For the exported points that have a path defined in "attachments" but the attachment has been offloaded to an external sd card already - when these points are imported they show up wo a path defined in "attachments", which makes it hard to determine if there IS an associated attachment for said point or not.

I have about 50GB of attachment data across 2500 points that I would like to maintain and use on my phone & tablet. File duplicity on 2 devices is not a concern.

Questions

1 - is there an easier way to manage attachments in my scenario?

2 - Is there a utility I can run that will look at the points stored on my tablet & attempt to relink them to their attachments if I pointed them to an "attachment root" similar to the default structure in Locus?

Ideal Outcomes:

1 - ability to define attachment storage to a root on an external sdcard. Phone storage limitation issue is mitigated. Then I could easily export and import my points w associated attachments from 1 device to the next wo closing the path information in the "attachment details".

Hi Corey,

thanks for your feedback. However, I don't have good news for you:

"1 - is there an easier way to manage attachments in my scenario?"

- I'm afraid not. So far, there is no general way of attachment management in Locus. Only individual attachments can be managed (added, removed etc.)

"2 - Is there a utility I can run that will look at the points stored on my tablet & attempt to relink them to their attachments"

- no there isn't, unfortunately

"ability to define attachment storage to a root on an external sdcard"

- option to define an external media storage is on our roadplan but not in the nearest future (small demand for it)

best regards

Michal, Locus team
