"Point Guidence Control Panel" for Nearest Geocache/Point

Firstly, congratulations on such a great App; it is the best on the market and your service is exceptional. I monitor the Help Desk and Forum on a daily basis and you are always quick to respond which is appreciated.

Now my question (using Pro Version): The "Point Guidence Control Panel" (http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:functions:guidance) is a great feature when guiding to a selected Geocache/Waypoint, but I was wondering if it could be extended to rather display the nearest Geocache or Waypoint (maybe by referring to a folder in the Data\Points section). The Control Panel would therefore need to assess which point is the nearest to the current location, and continuously update with the relevant point details. Our old Garmin Oregon 600 series GPSs had this feature and we found it very useful.

Benefit for us as follows: When cycle touring over long distances, we have many Geocaches scattered all over the countryside. Although some of these are viewable on the screen while travelling, many would be off-screen (some only a few 100m away). With the Nearest Geocache always shown on screen (with distance and direction indicated), we would constantly know if there was a geocache located just out of view, and then decide if a detour is worth it.

Thanks

Mike

Good day Mike,

I'm glad you find Locus Map useful!

You request is already partially done and I believe it is good enough as is. Seems you have disabled this feature because blue icon in bottom left corner is not visible, so please enable: settings > maps > panels & buttons > left actions panel and enable "Nearest points". Then in panel visible on map screen, you may simply filter just nearest geocaches. Believe it will be what you are looking for.
