Positive Track Recording Sound

I have thought a bit more on the "a properly recorded track can mean the difference between life and death" issue. I know Locus has a gps-signal-lost alert, but this is simply not enough in many cases. Imagine your smartphone silently crashing in your backpack (or simply running out of battery).

The only thing that can really guarantee proper track recording is a positive sound. So could we maybe get a configurable "Settings / Track Recording / Record Sound"? It would simply play whenever a new point is written to the recording database.

It would obviously default to "Silent". Under normal circumstances, I would set it to a very unobtrusive quiet little blip (useful to check the recording parameters). Under dangerous conditions, I would set it to something noisy to make really sure that Locus is still alive and properly recording data.

Good day joeloc,

very old topic and no extra vote. I'm surprised.

Such feature has only single purpose ... confirm that all went well. It's usage is in case, user has not 100% sure that Locus works fine over time. I was 100% that track recording is rock solid and works in all cases. Unfortunately optimizations in Android 6.0+ by various manufactures, show that it is not truth anymore.

After some thinking, I decided to create as simple as possible temporary solution. Reason for this is also because I just test and try to find out any reasons why is Locus killed and I personally need this as well.

In next version will be working new parameter in config.cfg file track_recording_positive_notify that just play single "beep" in case of positively recorded point. I believe it will be enough for this purpose till moment, Locus will be again recording without problems. Thanks for understanding.
