Problem mit Germany.map

Solved

After I used Locus map pro since several years with offline maps it suddenly says "Problem with Germany.map".

What can I do?

Dear Volker,

can I ask you what is the source of map? Is it map from Locus store? However if I understand it correctly you used to use this Germany map for long time? The "Problem with map" often says that map file is somehow broken. It can happen during downloading, copy from PC, etc. Is the map store on the SDcard or in internal memory?

thank you for answer.

Yes you understood corretly. Iused the map for a long time. Since a journey, one day it was all correct. On the next morning the problem appeared. In the meanwhile there was no file action neither copy or download with the map files. Their was no connection to anny computer and no connection to the internet. The other map files "netherland" "Alps" "Italy" have the same problem.

On my smartphone I have the same map-files and they are working fine in Locus Map free.

thank you for info. Well difficult to say what could cause this issue. I don't know what is the source of your map but is it possible to download the problematic map again? You can also transfer the same maps from your smartphone. Please try to replace the problematic map files with the new ones.

And please are the maps stored on the SD card or in the internal memory?

Hello Petr,

now I did the following: I copied the programm and the map-folder from the external card to the internal memory. Success: nothing.

Then I istalled Locus pro from PlayStore again. It would bee aktualisiert, no succied.

Then I copied the maps from my smartphone to the tablet, no succied.

Do you have any other idea?

Hello Wolker,

thank you for steps you did. I only want to be sure what steps were performed. Please check that Locus and map folder is in internal memory. After that download problematic file again and place them to the map folder. I know that it is similar but I really want to test new files in internal memory.

Dear Volker,

thank you for map - works fine on my device but there has to be some trouble on your device or problem during copy/downloading the map. Can I ask you how do you download the map? I mean if is map downloaded directly from OAM page to the tablet or if you download map to the PC and then to the tablet? Sometimes isn't file transferred properly from PC to device. Would you please compare the file size in tablet and filesize on PC?

Sorry I was busy for a long time.

I do not remember from where I downloadet the maps. I sechered, but I did not find the source again.

But the problem can not be caused by the download or copy. Alle Karten haben auf dem Tablet gut funktioniert. Suddenly the program reported 'problem with xy.map'.

Do you have any other idea what I could do?

Noch einmal, es handelt sich um vorher funktinierende Karten. Außerdem kann man in Locus weitere Kartenverzeichnisse hinzufügen.

Naja bei Petr und bei mir funktioniert die Karte ja. Also hast Du irgendwo einen Fehler gemacht. Wir würden Dir ja gerne helfen aber Deine Angaben sind sehr dürftig. Das sie einmal funktioniert haben, hilft hier nicht weiter. Was man kann und was nicht, ist auch nicht wichtig - nur dass was Du gemacht hast. Du hast weder Angaben zu Deiner Hardware gemacht noch Angaben zu Deinem OS. Evtl. kannst Du uns auch aussagekräftige screenshots zeigen oder auch ein Logfile schicken... Außer daß es einmal gegangen ist, wissen wir noch nicht wirklich viel.

Ich glaube ich habe die Karten wiedergefunden. Allerdings ist jetzt die Größe anders. Leider ergab sich keine Änderung. Immer noch 'Problem mit Germany.map'

Hi Volker,

'Problem mit Germany.map' definitely says that map file is corrupted. As I know OpenAndroMaps does not offer maps for whole Germany you can download Germany South or Germany North. Basically the easiest test:

- delete Germany map

- download Germany South / North. You can download map from Locus store or from mentioned OpenAndroMaps page

- after that, please try to display downloaded maps

@gynta - thanks for correction. I don't use OAM maps ;) However it does not change the main goal: try to get new file. Volker, please note that also transfer from PC can change the file. OAM offers "direct download feature" Please:

- check that default folder for vector maps is located in internal memory (via Menu > Settings > Misc > Default Directories)

- then download some small map and test it.

It works! While I had previously registered the external directory in the offline map folder, which now only works if I copy the maps to maps vector.

Betrifft externe Karten bzw. hinzugefügte Kartenordner.

A - Warten aufs update (sollte bald da sein).

B - Vectorkarte nach Locus/mapsVector schieben.

Seltsamer Weise funktioniert die Anmeldung fremder Ordner mit den gleichen Karten auf meinem Handy Android-Version 4.4.2 in Locus Map free. Aber auf meinem Tablet mit Androit 4.0.2 in Locus Map pro nicht.
