Problems recording and exporting tracks

Marco shared this problem 11 years ago
Solved

I am new to Locus Free and trying to test it before hiking holidays in June. When I record a track starting from home, I get only 25 meters recorded somewhere in the fields, or an incomplete track with a few points every few hundreds meters.

Other problem when I export the track: nothing can be found in LocusExport

Please check Locus/export folder with any android File manager. Some new devices does not show all files in folder when connect device to the PC.

Issue could be also caused by duplicated Locus directory:

Go to the Main Menu> Information where you can see where is Locus working directory.

I finally found the exported files after restart of my android phone, so this problem is solved. I will look for an easier solution but it is OK for now.

What about my other problem to record a track from start to end of a walk?

By the way, I have no similar problem with My Tracks from Google but the track appears very sinuous and the maps of Google are not as complete about hiking paths as the ones used by Locus.

Please study your track recording settings via Menu. And deselect "Limit points on Map" for now.

Also bad GPS reception may influence this in combination with the recording setting for "Max accuracy".

Try recording with your screen on and in the top bar of Locus change the field with Map name to Gps to show you the number of satellites.

OK, I will check those points. Thanks a lot
