Proximity Alarm with increasingly faster beeping like sonar radar
The existing proximity alarm is a good idea and a nice feature. It would be even better if we could have an alarm that beeps faster the closer you get to a point (like those old sonar radars).
That way you could find POIs without even looking at the screen.
The current use case I would like to see solved is having a list of geocache POIs and if you get into proximity closer than 100m you are informed of the nearby cache. Having increasingly faster beeps helps you find out which direction to go pretty quick. This would be a fun and adventurous way to hunt down caches. Currently there seems to be no other app that does this. Geocaching plug-ins are a big feature of locus so this would be a really cool and fun feature to have.
There are also other use cases one could think of like giving yourself some checkpoints and you then follow them completely by a sonar radar.
Another (and possibly simpler) way of implementing this would be to allow for multiple proximity alarms that trigger at different distances to be set at once. The user could then make his own increasing beeps by adding multiple alarms, each with a closer distance and a shorter pause between beeps. This approach has another advantage: Not all POIs are bound to the same distance to trigger the proximity alarm. A larger triggering distance could be set for things you do not want to miss out like noticeable sightseeing points along your track and a shorter distance for unimportant things like geocaches which you only want to trigger if they are quite close and grabbable within a minute.
good idea, it would be nice for cycling, as I keep my smartphone in the pocket.

I even do not know whether I marked this functionality, or I've downloaded with a new version of the program, but this functionality is very useful for geocaching. This feature allows an extremely energy-saving. There is no need to be constantly on the screen to check our positions.

Locus already does this when you use the "guiding" feature to guide to a specific point. The alert beeps more often the closer you get.

For geocaching, I prefer to have a single chime to warn me of my approach to the next cache which I have set at a 30m proximity as default. I use the guiding on button. Increasing bleeps whilst good in theory, are annoying after a short while, especially if you are being accompanied on your travels.

I use Locus for Motorcycling, I would rather not have any more noise in my head when I am trying to navigate traffic.
If it only works for geocaching it might work.

I would like a blinking LED “silent alert" as a poi alarm. May be faster blinking.
This should be true for all alarms and notifications. In different colors.
