Quick "Guide to" button

I`m very often using Guide to option, but it needs to many steps to set the guiding to the new point. Now I need:

1. center on the desired place,

2. long click on the center of the screen,

3. wait until the label of the place will appear,

4. click on the label,

5. click on the (two arrows and circle) icon

6. from the menu, choose Guide on

This is rather long process wiith many unneccesary steps. Won`t it be better to just add some quick button somewhere ( "Guide on to the center of the screen" ). There should be also quick "Guide off" button

The new Guide to button is almost nice. I was thinking about just "Guide on to the center of the screen", and your solution is to open a big menu "Location" with other possibilities like "Pick on map" and so on. Any possibility to create separate button to implement just and only "Map center" option? Or put some new variable in config file to give the possibility to the user to automatically choose "Map center" or other his favourite option from this menu?

I think the current "Guide to button" is really helpful and with only two taps you have the freedom to decide where to be guided. As you described in older versions there were six steps necessary.

- Most of the time I have my current location in the map center, so Guide to map center wouldn`t be too helpful.

- Other people could have idea that they want to be guided to "Pick on map" or Favorites. Should for every choice be a separate setting? I don`t think so.

- independent of my previous comment -

@Menion: Why didn`t you set this topic to implemented?

So as you can see, everyone has his favourite option in this case. Im using that one very often, so I would like to have the possibility to optimise my everyday usage. Configuration file is great for such a small improvements. Anyway, my original intention was to just add "Guide on to the center of the screen" button, so the topic is not exactly implemented as I asked for. But of course, 2 steps is better then 6 steps:)

as I think about it, I think current solution cover 90% of usage. "Guide to map center" have sense only in case, another button "Guide to (like now)" will be available, but it`s not best idea

configuration file - yes it`s fine and I`m also sure it will be soon full of really lot of settings (and I`m little bit worried about it).

I think, best would be to keep it as is now. As you wrote, two steps are much better then 6 and most users may be satisfied. Topic closed

Your comment is ambiguous. Will you add it to config file, please?

I hoped it`s not ambiguous, sorry then

No I`ll not add it. For this I`ll have to add some enumeration of possibilities, because as Tommi wrote, not everyone want to set only "Map center". This one step that you don`t like, should be useful in many cases also for you I think. Sometimes you`ll want to guide on specific address or coordinates and then you`ll have to go again with your beloved six-step process :).

So to make it clear - sorry, no. Current version is final

:/ The problem with the Location dialog is, it took 2-7 seconds to appear ( depending on the available system resources). So maybe not enumerate all the possibilities, maybe just add configuration possibility to turn "Guide to" button in "Guide to map center" in configuration file. Isnt it possible?

If it really needs to stay there, is there a way to put Map center on the top position of this menu? Its harder to hit second position, when on the bike, because if you accidentally hit other position, the whole process is turning into nightmare.

Menion, its so good now! Thank you. Now I only need to clicks for Guide to. And the "Pick location" dialog is so cool now. Amazing. Big icons, easy to change the position of your favourite options there. Congratulations, this is now really good.

The only think that can make it even better is long-click on the "Guide to" icon. I really like behave of zoom lock and rotate icons/buttons. The option to choose the default behaviour is fantastic. So maybe there is a possibility to implement something like that to "Guide to" button. So the user will be able to choose his favourite option from "Pick location".

Anyway. Its amazing and it will really make life easier. Thanks for that a lot!
