Quick map switch bug

Hugo Botas shared this problem 10 years ago
Solved

Scenario: I have 3 Vector maps named map 1, map 2 and map 3. I used to use map 1 and map 2, but now I don`t use them that often. When I`m on map 3, I go the quick map switch screen and I can see the three maps there. If I switch to google maps and go to that screen again I can`t see map 3 there (as it should be, as it was the last used)

Always happened

Cheers

Hello Hugo,

you select online Google maps and then in quick switch aren`t available all three vector maps right? But what you see there? If you have currently selected any online map, you should see in Quick map switch list of max 5 last used online maps, 2 nearest personal maps and 2 nearest vector maps.

System is that if you have active any vector maps, you see in Quick map switch 5 vector maps and from 2 of rest. Same for personal and online

is this helpful for you or is there still a problem?

This is how you reproduce what I see:

- Have a vector map covering where you are

- Make a copy of it

- Name them 1.map and 2.map

- Change to map 1 using the regular map changing dialog

- Quick switch to google maps. At this screen I can already see maps 1 and 2 under vector tab

- I can`t quick switch to map 2 at this point, although it was available when I was on map 1, I will normal switch to it

- Quick switch to google maps again

- At this point, again, I can`t quick switch to map 2, even after using it

That`s it!

Thanks

Hello Hugo,

In quick map switch is section “Nearest vector map”. Your map1 or map2 should be shown here, but there is some weakness. The nearest vector map is computed based on central position of bounding box of map. Sometimes could happen that other map is closer (central point is closer) than map covering actual position. Does Locus show other vector map or is section “Nearest vector map” empty?

Thanks for your attention!

I`ve been testing, and everything works well if I just have map 1 and map 2 on that folder. When a third map is there, it will appear before map 1, leaving map 2 out, even when the third map was not involved in the map1 > gm > map2 > gm > (can`t quick switch back to map 2, the third map will appear first) exchange

the 3 maps are all copys of the same map, so that we can leave the nearest map issue out
