Record only when moving behaviour
Answered
Hi all,
Can you give me clarification about the option "Record only when moving" ?
Is it supposed to pause the track as if i had push on the button myself ?
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
it means no trackpoints are recorded when you're not moving but the recording is not paused - the time counter goes on.

Thank you for your feedback Michal,
What you describe is not already handled by the "Tracking recording condition" ?

I don't think so - there's also a time trigger.

Ok, so if i unerstand correctly, with the following settings for a bike track recording :
10m|5s and by using "Trackpoint recording condition" set to both "Time and distance", there is no aditionnal effect with using the "Record only when moving" option ?

The effect is that Locus doesn't record trackpoints when you don't move, i.e. no clusters of unwanted lines occur on the place of your stop.

If i don't move and with the settings i described, even if this option is disabled, there will be no trackpoints recorded neither :)

Theoretically, it is so. System GPS returns the current speed in addition to the location, so "record only when moving" option tests the speed and if it is less than some value, it evaluates the movent as zero and trackpoints are not recorded. If the result is the same as what you write, it depends on the GPS quality of your phone. So most of it should, however, if GPS jumps more than 10m (which will result in the same total), then this setting could help because even in those cases, the system should return the speed (almost) zero.

Perfectly clear, thank you.
