Record stopped and deleted without asking to save - can I retrieve?

Boris shared this problem 8 years ago
Not a Problem

Bit frustrated to finish recording a track then lose it. I pressed 'stop' as usual but it didn't ask to save - in fact it just said it was deleting it instead!.... I've kept Locus running since then- is there a way to un-delete?

Good day Boris,

fact that Locus immediately deleted track is possible on in case, recorded track has zero stored points! In all other cases, "saving dialog" should appear.

So i'm sorry, but in this case, there is nothing to un-done as nothing was really recorded.

I suggest to check your recording conditions, if they aren't too unrealistic (mainly accuracy value), also check if you have enabled GPS in your Android system and if GPS is running and receiving data directly in Locus - check this in GPS screen: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:tools:gps

Feel free to ask if something is not clear. I'll gladly help or forward you on existing manual page.

Thanks for your quick reply. That's very odd as I've used Locus Pro on my Android phone for years now and haven't knowingly changed anything that would mean 'zero stored points'. I guess I have lost this track then... I'll record some more shorter ones and see if it happèns again.

Ah so you are already skilled user. Hmm then I really suggest to check if you have enabled GPS in your Android device settings. I also had an experience, with by accident disabled GPS in system.

I'm not saying there should not be an issue in Locus, but track recording service did not change for some time and I do not have reported any similar problems.

Boris - did you see your recorded track being displayed on the map before it was deleted? Sometimes with my Sony Xperia Z1 the GPS "drops out", although very rarely - no signal, no track recorded. Fortunately you can set up Locus to notify if the GPS drops out, I have it beep 5 times every minute. Then I can quickly disable & reenable the GPS and no track information is lost.

Fair enough Menion. I don't think so but I will make extra sure- it's only fair I check this again to see if it recurs. Good point thank you Andrew.. I'll ensure there's an audible GPS drop out warning. I think before I had the voice alert but beeps are probably less irksome.
