Resume Recording of a saved track

Hello,
is it possible to resume track recording of a saved track. When I was on bike tour I accientally ended track recording in the middle of the tour (and saved the track). Then I wanted to resume the recording, mainly because I wanted to see the real totals (km, avg speed, time, etc.) on the dashboard.
Is it possible? If not, I'd file it as a feature-request.
