Hi, i would like to save my Geocaching Data on the external sdcard on Android 5.0 on my Galaxy S5. All the Geocaching Data Listings, Hints, Fotos are always not saved one I actualize a Geocache.

My Standard folder 4 Geocaching Data is to time at the internal. Sdcard.

How could I get the data to be saved?

Thanx, Thomas

Good day Thomas,

please check this manual: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:use_sdcard_on_kitkat , where is everything you may find usable around Locus Map + SD card. Hope it helps.

Hi Menion ,

unfortunately did I not find exactly what I would like to do.

(I use the german language version, but try to translate into English.)

I configured

Locus > Menu > Settings >Miscellaneous > Folders

'data/geocaching' = /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/menion.android.locus.pro/gcdata

with /gcdata is a folder that I created with ES File Explorer to store all my Geocaching-Data as long as Locus is installed on my device.

My test was it to actualize 2 Geocache-Points and I hoped to find now 2 folders with their GC-Codes and all the related data as pictures and xml-files. But the folder remained empty.

And I am still in the position that geocachindata is not stiored on my device.

What can I do - I do not want to move the whole locus path to menion.android.locus....

Could it be that I have to use another path to enable locus write-rights to this directory?

Hi,

hmm and after you updated your two caches, did you at least found required data in default Locus directory? I'm mainly asking if Locus really downloads and creates what you need.

To path ... it should be correct, expect ... "/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/menion.android.locus.pro/files/gcdata". I think "files" subdirectory is already pre-created in mentioned path, right? So try to move gcdata directory into it. It should work. If not, I'll try to test it by my own.

locus main dir is /storage/emulated/0

/storage/emulated/0/locus/data/geocaching is absolutely empty (unless the .nomedia file).

gcdata seems to have never been stored at all

Oki, and what you expect to store into this directory? Locus do not store any data here except images downloaded over "Geocaching offlinizer" ( http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:geocaching:tools#geocaching_offlinizer ). All other data are stored in internal database.

I though you are aware of this and that you want to just store image on card.

So sorry, I expected all the data, that belongs to each single-actualized cache were stored in that dir.

So the reason why the caches data is almost always actualized, when I click on a cache in map view should be another one. But which?

Here the story: I wanted to go out for a geocache series of 10 GCs, klicked in WLAN at home at each of them in the map to gain the data, thought, it was stored (in folder or database).

When I was outside in the forrest (with bad network receivment conditions) Locus tries to actualize the GCs data, when I click the cache in map. The data seems to get not stored. This is especially bad for Spoiler photos ...

Hmm understand.

Please check Geocaching4Locus settings. There should be "downloading" section and settings called "Only basic info". You have probably enabled this one, so try to disable it.

Your great - thanx a lot!

I had this option enabled but totally misunderstood that.

I am sure it will work now.

Ticket is solved :-)

Hi menion,

in which folder does Geocaching4Locusits (spoiler)-pictures etc. save?

At my locus installation (galaxy s5, andoid 5.0) they are still not saved and reloades from network every time I open a geocache in locus.

Hello,

if you use Geocaching offlinizer feature, then data are stored in Locus/data/geoaching. Otherwise caching of images is handled by Android itself so it is possible that they are reloaded almost everytime.
