I have only the place name - no postal code - no province,...
Sometimes more Villages have the same name (eg Schneeberg, Berg, Neufeld, Hof..)
In google maps, i can choose. Locus take the first result and pointed me to the wrong place.

I just tried it with "Berg" and I get choose from five locations. This don't happen to you?
You use Menu > Search > By Address?

strange but "berg" is a bad example :)I tried it now with different names.

It depends on your settings > misc > source for address search

Hmm hard to say where is a problem. This is possible URL to get search results
And as you may see, result is also just one.
So it seems not to be a problem in Locus, but some limitation in geocoding over Google API
