Select export folder for tracks
first my setup and actual workaround to export recorded tracks:
locus is installed here: /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/locus/...
locus save the exported track here: .../external_sd/locus/export
so far, so good...
but there is a problem: my windows explorer (XP-Pro) don ́t show the folder .../external_sd/... and their subfolders. the result: i can ́t reach the locus files directly with the windows explorer.
my workaround: If i want import a locus track to my PC, first i export the track inside locus, copy the track with a android filemanager to a folder that my pc-explorer can read (e.g. /mnt/sdcard/locus-data/...), and only now i can copy the file to my pc.
if inside locus is a feature to let the user set their own export-folder (like the feature for vector-maps) i think this will enhance the working with exporting tracks to windows pc.

Hi,
why don`t you check the box "Share exported Data"?
It offers you the possibility to upload all your exported tracks to Dropbox (if installed) after exporting. So you have all your exported tracks right on your PC!
I do this all the time and it works just great!
Cheers, berkley

i don ́t like such "file-hostings" via internet, my favorite work is to connect the phone directly to my pc. ;) but i`ll check it out, that "dropbox"....
thanks!

hm this works for me here
so you have to fix this problem.
should work with XP-Pro properly.

Since Locus 2.17.0 (+-) is possible to select export folder directly during export.

Thanks a lot to Menion!
@all: maybe you`ll see the /external_sd/ folder because you have a physical external card in your phone? In my phone isn ́t such external card...
Locus did install and create itself the folder /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/ on the "internal" memory of the phone.
But OK ... with the hint from Menion my idea is history. ;)

Hello Marian,
unfortunately I need more information to help you.
1. There is no root needed for any of wrote solutions
2. Previously 'export path' was defined in config.cfg file of Locus. Since some older version, export path is defined directly in Locus during export

(I am new at Android.)
Mobile LG E430. Connected to Win 7 using USB and "data synchro."
Win 7 - i see not /external_SD/Locus/, but i see it using android's file manager.
The same exported track (i changed output directory to /external_SD/Documents/.
I see not config. file using Win and using android's file manager i see not it too.

So problems is that you export track from Locus to directory, that is not visible in your PC? Then it's a problem of your connection to PC and not Locus!
Unfortunately I do not know what is 'data synchro', so maybe someone other has experience with connecting Android to Windows 7?
btw. please forget on configuration file. It's more advanced feature and you do not need it for specify export directory.

1. I am not scared of config file, i am application programmer.
2. I see OruxMaps directory using Win. I see my pictures. I think it is your setting of user/group/idkwhat rights.

Hmm I don't think you scare 'config.cfg', I wrote "you do not need it for specify export directory".
About rights. You may check rights that are set on Locus folders. Anyway I do not set any, and I don't even know if it's possible. I think that changing read/write permissings cannot be done without chmod command and it should requite root access. And Locus do not use anything that require root.
Usually if there are any problems with access to card, I usually suggest simply restart of device. It's most useful cure.
