Shading for the Iceland offline vector map
Answered
I installed Locus Map Free, and then downloaded the "Iceland offline vector map" from the Locus Store. At the end of the download it offered map shading (I assumed topographic shading), which I accepted. It then told me this was supported in the Pro version, and when I declined the upgrade the shading data was not downloaded (as far as I could tell). I subsequently upgraded to the Pro version. How do I now obtain topographic shading for this map? I tried removing the map and downloading again, but it now does not offer to download map shading, and no shading is evident on the map.
OK, I worked it out. Settings / Map - advanced / Map shading / enable.
I guess there is actually no "shading data" to download. The map download dialogue could perhaps be made a little clearer on this point - it certainly mislead *me*. Anyway, thanks for a great app - I'm looking forward to making a lot of use of it!

Hello Andrew,
sorry for troubles. You're right, Locus needs to download elevation data and also it's needed to turn-on hillshading Settings > Map - advanced > Map shading. However do you suggest to enable hill-shading automatically when elevation data are downloaded?
Thanks

Hi Petr
No. I got confused because the download dialogue (the first time I did it) seemed to be offering to download shading data. Now maybe I just didn't read the message carefully enough (and of course I can't reproduce it now that I've upgraded), but I don't think it was very clear that I would be able to see (computed) shading, on the map I'd just downloaded, by upgrading to Pro and enabling the feature. A bit more clarity there might save others from the sort of confusion I found myself in. :-)
