First of all congratulations for your excellent program, very complete.
The idea or suggestion I wanted to make is about "live tracking". Maybe not to depend on an external site, you could keep track of live track on the site of LocusMap (as is done for "test"), but add a user management where you can define which users follow the location and what users want to share our location. So as to track the location of another user from the same LocusMap.
I know that you can simulate this example by sending the "live track" to an external site and then the other person to access this site from your cell phone, but it seems more integrated and convenient to do both within LocusMap.
On the other hand I may be desirable to add in documentation configuration examples "live track" with certain sites that perform the task, eg LiveTrack24 (see example in the forum), MapMyTrack (I was looking at how to integrate, but both latitude and longitude and time stamp should be sent in the same parameter values separated by white space, and requires a parameter value changes according to whether we start, update or finalized the track).
The other option is to add pre-configured sites.
They are just suggestions, I hope to take them well.
Greetings to all and congratulations again.
PS: Sorry for my English, I`m using google translator.
Well I'm glad to mark this topic as "Implemented". Finally after years. Enjoy this feature in latest 3.16.0 version of Locus.
Don't worry, we plan to improve it (mainly private groups, some web where should be visible current active users) etc. Anyway "core" is done. Uff.

Just want to add some api pages to that idea...

Maybe there is a skilled developer reading this...

Berkley Hello, thanks for the reply.
The site Glympse did not know, thanks for the tip. Regarding MapMyTrack, the API defines the values of longitude, latitude and others must be sent in a single parameter (value), called points, separated by white space, Locus instead by what we can do is send each of these values as individual parameters, according to the live tracking screen.
Regards

Hello, an idea:
Viewing manual "Live Tracking", perhaps to use MapMyTrack which requires sending data of longitude, latitude and others in the same html parameter, you could add a parameter of type "text field" in which the parameter name would be "points" and the value should be able to specify a text which may contain the name of variables representing the longitude, latitude, etc. For example: "{lat} {lon} {ts}" (note the white space between the values).
Regards

This should be really outstanding feature! Still any plan to do that?

Would that be possible to live watch the track of other person(s) directly on map in Locus and does this feature provide a limitation to only give access to group of authorised users? (Not the way Livetrack24 behaves)

This idea would be great for group outings like 4x4 expeditions and trips where you have over a dozen cars to keep track of, some who might get stuck or miss a turn - Would make it easy to find them or even just to ensure everybodys still going the right way as well lols
It would involve constant uploading of current position to a web server somewhere though I assume - and sometimes out in the bush perhaps phone signals (or even data use?) could be a issue

I hope this will be available in MGRS. There are many of us Security Contractors that use this program in the Middle East and it is amazing. Looking forward to the future use of your incredible app.

About tracking - free server part http://opengts.org
Seems complicated, but (maybe) allows anybody to buy virtual hosted server for own greoup usage.
Another tracking (proprietary) service, already used by OsmAnd map app: https://osmo.mobi/Customization

You are missing the point, need the flexibility and user friendly platform that Locus provides. GPS Kit offers a platform similiar to yours but is more user friendly and offers the tracking ability. However, it is an iTunes only product.

you can do this as a paid plugin i will buy it anyway!
trouble is that there is many things to do around that, ie. ability to login on locus map to access your friends, menage friends, on web or/and app, share locations, sync friends.
greatest idea i think up now is do that with no internet connection, using cellular network only via text messages that is skipped for view in inbox, many networks has free text messages now, and gsm is still stronger than gprs

In progress? Woo! Maybe Locus could come together with a similar solution to Traccar (a web based client). Also I'd like to get all the sensor data from an android phone to be transmittable as well. ANT+,gyro, magnet, temperature!

Hello guys,
these, who are still interested in this feature, check news in this topic on forum: http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=4988.0 .
I'll post in this topic just an important news, to prevent spamming of all users mailboxes. Have a nice day.

Can we still share suggestions here? One suggestion (apart from transmitting ANT+ and other sensor data) is to be able to transmit the location without GPS (medium accuracy). Now gps is required to be on, while google+ for example supports network based locations.
Thanks for the great feature, it is working well
