Shared coordinates from a Google Maps POI to Locus are wrong
Closed
Hi,
when I am in a foreign City I usually search a restaurant via Google maps but I prefer to navigate with locus.
When I use the Google maps share button and choose locus as target it never worked. I always get absolutely wrong coordinates.
Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks Wolfgang
Good day Wolfgang,
not sure if there will be option to improve it. As I remember, Google Maps share usually name of place, not it's real coordinates.
------
After some playing with it, I may only confirm what I wrote. I see no option how to share directly found coordinates from Google Maps directly to any other application, not just a Locus Map, I'm sorry. Google Maps always share a name of place or together it's address and Locus forward this text into "address search" system which may give different (wrong) results.

Hi Menion,
I don't know if it helps. As workaround I use this 3rd party app. It copies coordinates into the clipboard. Don't know how this app handles it....

Hello Wolfgang,
thanks for a tip. Unfortunately it looks that this app does not have public source code, so I cannot check what method and how the developer get coordinates from Google Maps. To be true, I can't imagine any known hack how to do it, so ... smart guy :).
I'm sorry, I'm really not aware of any working solution for now.
