Show on chart, zoom, scroll > Position is lost
Hey,
if I pick a position on a long track, eg at 20 km on a 300 km track, and go "show on chart", the position is indicated in the chart showing the full 300 km.
The "+" button zooms to the middle of the chart, eg km 150. If I scroll (swipe) through the chart, after a few swipes, a new position is picked and the one that I wanted to see is lost. This does not happen all the time, but very frequently, so I have to go back to map view and do everything again (and again...)
My suggestions (1.+2. would improve usability, 3 should be sufficient to solve the problem)
1. If there is a position that has been selected on the map, use this position as the focus for zooming
2. If no position has been selected, but the current GPS location is on the track, zoom to current location
3. use double-tap to pick a position on the chart instead of single tap
Thank you!
Hey,
I am wondering whether you can reproduce this issue. Since I haven't got any response yet, may I ask if you need more detailed information? I work with long tracks frequently, so I do find it annoying that I am not able to scroll in a zoomed elevation chart without losing the position that I initially selected on the map...
Thanks a lot for your answer!

Hello Tirfo,
I personally noticed few times this problematic work with chart. Unfortunately it has currently lower priority then some other tasks, sorry.

Hi, it's been two months and I would like to ask again whether this bug is going to be fixed. I am working with long tracks frequently, so this bug really bothers me. Would't my suggestion #3 be a very simple and quick solution to this problem?
Thanks a lot!

Good day Tirfo,
I´ll look at it during start of September, when there will be some time. But cannot promise. Even a simply looking task may be a complicated. In this case, simple change from single tap to double tap will have nice effect - 20 emails on support, why it previously worked and not don´t. So it is also not so simple and needs to clever solution. And as I wrote - low priority.

Good day Tirfo,
I'm checking possibilities to improve current system and all seems to be quite complicated and time consuming. Anyway at least for now, I've did a small improvements so now there will be two vertical lines. One defined by your click "Show on chart" and second defined by your tap into chart itself. You will see in next version. Anyway at least something to start ;).
