Show point's icon while in POI alert mode
Answered
Hi there.
Presently, I'm in a country with lots of speed radars on the roads. I've downloaded a kml file from a website with all the radars in POI and imported them to Locus. That database with POI Alert function works like a charm, but there's one thing I would like to ask that, in my opinion, would improve Locus.
Whenever I'm in the distance set to the POI, I hear a sound, but it's difficult to say which speed limit it refers to, looking at the icon only.
Would it be possible to show the icon of the POI in the screen so that it would be clearly visible, during X seconds?
Regards.

POI which caused alarm should be a) highlighted a little bit, b) connected by red line ... this does not happen to you? Should be enough to immediately see correct point on the map.

Hi, Menion.
The red line is there, but I didn't notice any highlighted POI. Maybe it is, but to a person that is driving a car is hard to see.
The ideal solution would be to show some kind of message (like the red stop sign) or a clearly visible icon in the screen.

Hi,
I have not really understood what other information you want on the display.
Write or make the picture you want.
Now it works like the screen below.

There's no need for more information, really. It would suffice if the icon could enlarge in order to be clearly visible.
If that is not possible, than showing the name of the POI on the screen, could also be a solution. I only use one notification per radar and the red stop button doesn't appear. Maybe the name of the POI could be shown instead.
In the image attached you can see that the icon is small and it's not easily seen while driving.

Current situation
No alert
One-time alert
- connection line + little larger point icon
Repeated alert
- connection line + little larger point icon + white popup + STOP button
Do you see exactly this situation for your alert?

Yes, but since I use the One-time alert, there's not much to tell which radar speed I'm approaching. The icons have 40, 50, 60 etc. and it's not always obvious. My suggestion is to have that white popup also in the one-time alert or a bigger icon in the place of the red stop sign.

Hello,
I'm playing a little bit with shadows and some highlight of points on the map during POI alert, but so far no success I would be satisfied with. So for now, I've at least generally increased the scale of highlighted points from 25% to 50%. If you want to see also small popups, I may suggest enabling repeated alarm, but with some higher time value, so repeat won't bother you too often.

Thank you for your effort, Menion.
The problem with that is if I enable repeated alarm, I'll have to press the STOP sign, no? Or does the sound stops when I pass the POI? It would be important to have the minimum interaction possible with the phone while driving...

I've tested this again today on the road and the result was not what I expected. It works, kinda, but I'm unable to see the icon and identify it correctly (the popup doesn't show the speed limit and it's distracting), which nullifies the purpose of using POI alert to warn me of radars.
Here's two screenshots where you can see (1) that it's not possible to read the icon (with the speed limit) from a distance of 40 cm or so while driving and a suggestion (2) of what might appear to inform the driver about the POI.
Regards.
